Powers of attorney and powers of instruction are legal documents that grant someone the authority to act on behalf of another person. A power of attorney allows an individual to appoint someone to make financial or legal decisions on their behalf, while a power of instruction gives someone the authority to make decisions regarding specific instructions or preferences, such as medical treatment or end-of-life care. Both documents are important for ensuring that a person's wishes are carried out in the event that they are unable to make decisions for themselves. **
