Smart irrigation can be implemented without a gateway by using wireless sensors and controllers that communicate directly with each other. These devices can be connected through a mesh network, allowing them to relay information and commands without the need for a central gateway. Additionally, cloud-based platforms can be used to remotely monitor and control the irrigation system without the need for a physical gateway. This approach allows for a more decentralized and flexible smart irrigation system that can be easily scaled and adapted to different environments. **
